About Joann Loftus
Joann Loftus is a native Hoosier, born and raised in central Indiana. Majoring in art and interior design, Joann attended Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington. Joann is a member of the Indianapolis Art Center, the Southside Art League, the Irvington Guild of Artists and the Watercolor Society of Indiana. She has been taught by many regional and nationally known artists and has studied extensively under abstract artist Shirley Despot.
Juried into numerous art shows and exhibitions, her art has been included in the Midwest National Abstract Exhibition, the Indiana State Fair, the Will Vawter Show, the National Fine Arts Exhibition, and the SALI Collage Exhibition. She has also been a guest artist at K. Scott Studio at the Murphy Art Center in Indianapolis, as well as an invitational artist at the Small Works Show at Gallery 431 in Columbus, Indiana. A solo exhibition at GBC Art Gallery has also featured her work.
Joann has won more than a dozen awards for her fine art, including several First and Second Place awards at the Indiana State Fair, First Place at the SALI College Exhibition, and Outstanding Watercolor at the National Fine Arts Exhibition. She maintains an in-home studio where she creates her expressionistic and whimsical art.
